Terms of Service

App name: PixelQR

Platforms: iOS and Android

Effective date: June 6, 2026

Last updated: June 6, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PixelQR QR code generator and scanner application (“PixelQR”, “the app”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using PixelQR, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

1. Eligibility

PixelQR is a general-audience tool and has no minimum age requirement. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the app only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you represent that you (or your parent or legal guardian) agree to these Terms.

2. License to Use the App

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use PixelQR on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business use.

You may not:

This is a license, not a sale. We retain all rights not expressly granted to you.

3. Description of the Service

PixelQR allows you to create, customize, scan, save, and organize QR codes and related barcodes. Created codes and scan history are stored on your device and, where supported and enabled, backed up to your own personal cloud account (e.g., Apple iCloud). Some features rely on third-party services as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also offer optional premium features available through a paid subscription or one-time purchase (see Section 5).

4. Your Content and Responsible Use

4.1 Your Content

You are solely responsible for the content you encode into QR codes and for any data you scan, import, or store using the app (“Your Content”). You retain ownership of Your Content. Because Your Content is stored primarily on your device and your personal cloud account, you are responsible for maintaining and backing it up.

4.2 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PixelQR to create, scan, distribute, or link to content that:

4.3 Scanning Risk

QR codes can contain links and data created by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, websites, or actions that result from scanning a QR code. Exercise caution before opening links or acting on scanned content.

5. Subscriptions, Lifetime Purchase, and Payments

PixelQR offers an optional Premium upgrade that removes advertisements and unlocks additional features. Premium is available through:

A free trial may be offered with certain subscription plans. Specific prices, billing periods, trial lengths, and included features are shown in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region and over time.

5.1 Billing

All purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (“the Stores”) and managed through our purchase provider (RevenueCat). Payment is charged to your Store account at confirmation of purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

5.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

5.3 Free Trials

If a free trial is offered and you do not cancel before it ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

5.4 Managing and Cancelling

You can manage, cancel, or turn off auto-renewal for subscriptions at any time through your Store account settings:

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain premium access until that period ends.

5.5 Lifetime Purchase

A lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-recurring payment that grants premium access for as long as the app remains reasonably available and supported. “Lifetime” refers to the lifetime of the app/product, not the lifetime of the user, and does not guarantee perpetual availability if the app is discontinued.

5.6 Refunds

All purchases are handled by the Stores, and refunds are subject to the Stores’ policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google through your Store account. Where required by law, you may have additional refund or withdrawal rights.

5.7 Price Changes

We may change prices for subscriptions or purchases. Price changes to auto-renewing subscriptions will be applied in accordance with the Stores’ rules and applicable law, and where required you will be given notice and the opportunity to cancel.

6. Advertising

The free version of PixelQR is supported by advertising, served through Google AdMob. By using the free version, you agree that the app may display ads. Purchasing a premium subscription or the lifetime upgrade removes ads. Our handling of advertising data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

PixelQR relies on third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Google AdMob, Google Firebase, RevenueCat, and Apple iCloud (where applicable). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not endorse content reached through them.

8. Intellectual Property

PixelQR, including its software, design, logos, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license in Section 2, these Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or other intellectual property.

9. Disclaimers

10. Limitation of Liability

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PixelQR and its developer from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the app. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8–11) will survive.

Termination does not automatically entitle you to a refund; refunds remain subject to Section 5.6 and the Stores’ policies.

13. Apple and Google App Store Terms

These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple or Google. The Stores are not responsible for the app or its content. To the extent applicable:

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app. Your continued use of PixelQR after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you may have.
